Everything you need to know before heading to the snow.

Do I need to book hire gear in advance?

Walk-ins are always welcome, however we recommend calling ahead during peak season periods (school holidays and long weekends) to ensure we have the right sizes available for your group. Give us a call on 03 5756 2213 or 0476 586 659.

Are helmets included in hire packages?

Yes! All children's ski and snowboard hire packages (under 18) include a FREE helmet. Adult helmets are available to hire separately from just $10/day. We strongly encourage everyone to wear a helmet on the mountain.

Do I need wheel chains to get to the resorts?

Wheel chains are mandatory on some alpine roads when snow is present, regardless of whether you have a 4WD vehicle. We hire 2WD and 4WD diamond pattern chains at a discounted rate when bundled with ski or snowboard hire.

What should I bring when picking up hire gear?

Please bring your own wool or thermal ski socks (this is very important for a good boot fit!). You'll also need a valid ID and payment. We'll fit everything else — boots, bindings, helmets — right here in the shop.

Can I hire gear for just part of a day?

Our standard hire periods are by the day. If you have specific requirements such as half-day hire or afternoon-only sessions, give us a call and we'll do our best to help.

What is your return policy for hire gear?

Gear should be returned clean and in the same condition it was hired. Please make sure ski boots are dried at room temperature — never near direct heat. If anything is damaged or not working correctly during your hire, please contact us straight away.

Do you have gear for very young children?

Absolutely! Our Tiny Tots package is designed for children under 8 and includes skis, boots and poles with a FREE helmet, starting from just $35/day. We love getting the little ones started on their snow journey!

Do you sell retail ski equipment as well?

Yes! In addition to our hire fleet we carry a selection of retail ski and snow gear. Visit us in store to see what's available this season, or give us a call to enquire about specific items.
